Pineapple Upside Down Cake

I thought I would give you just a window into my kitchen to show you the yummie pineapple upside down cake that I made this weekend.  It was gooey heaven!  I make one of these for one of my best friends every year for her birthday so a little practice in between time never hurts.

I make my cake in a cast iron skillet in the oven.  I have never had anything turn out so pretty and good almost every time.  If you'd like the recipe just leave a comment and I'll post it, or if you have a great one, post it in the comments section.

New Stampin Up Demonstrator

I'm now a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I absolutely love the products and decided to join the ranks of others who find passion in creating beautiful paper projects. I've been involved with other home party businesses in the past. I truly loved their products and many of them I still use today such as Mary Kay. I think all companies such as this have their pros and cons. Stampin' Up!. has more pros than most. One of the things that impressed me the most is when I called the home office in Utah, the customer services people were so very nice. They answered all of my questions and were genuinely helpful and I could tell they love their company. Even if I just make enough to support my crafting habit I'll be happy, but I decided to give it my all and just see how it goes. If you are interested in purchasing any products from me you can do so directly from my Stampin' Up website and I will be very grateful! I will do my very best to serve you better than you thought possible...without being pushy. My website address is http://joannmckenzie.stampinup.net.

Trifold Mini Album

Materials:
2 8 1/2 x 11" sheets of cardstock
3 Envelopes (Width should be less than 4 3/4")
2 12x12 sheets of patterned paper

Score one sheet of the cardstock at 2", 2 1/4", 6 3/4", and 7".
Creased scorelines well with bone folder.
Scallop cut shortest section (flap)

Seal each envelope shut. Cut them along the short side at the following lengths: 6", 7", and 8". Apply patterned paper to each envelope.

Cut remaining sheet of card stock the same length as the envelopes but 1/4" less in width (inserts). Cut 3 strips the same width as envelopes and 2" long. Score and crease at 1". (These will be the hinges for the envelopes) Cut one piece 11" x 2" for the belly band and score at 3", 3 1/4", 7 3/4" and 8". Crease well with bone folder.

Use a circle punch to cut a 1/2 circle in the open end of each envelope.

Apply a hinge to the longest envelope (valley fold to the inside), apply strong adhesive to back side of that hinge and apply to cover. Do the same with the 7" envelope, then lastly the 6" envelope on top.

Apply any additional embellishments to the inside of the album. Close album and apply belly band and finish by embellishing the outside of the cover.

Back In Action

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. My teaching schedule has been nuts and I finally have a few days off to enjoy Easter and get back to playing with paper! I do have one announcement, in the meantime I did become a Stampin Up! demonstrator. I'm really only doing it to support my craft habit and besides just plain loving their products! I don't have a demonstrator in my area so I decided to be one! Who knows, this could be a great adventure for me! I've only received my starter kit so I'll be working soon on items to post that are created with Stampin Up products. I probably love their punches more than anything. I love to use a combination of other products as well as Stampin Up. I'm not sure I know anyone that is exclusive to just one line. I also love the Creative Memories line, but am using their digital products more than the traditional scrapbooking line...but again, love their punches!

Here is the most recent video I created for YouTube. I hope you enjoy it and have a wonderful Easter!
